This immersive series will blend learning, exploration, and discovery and is designed for adults eager to deepen their connection with nature through the art of wildlife track and sign. Wildlife educator, tracker, and naturalist Pam Landry will introduce you to the
fascinating fundamentals of tracking and guide you in sharpening your awareness through observation skills.
The first class will provide an overview and introduction through a series of hands-on, interactive indoor activities, as you examine and ponder over plaster casts, chewed nuts and twigs, feathers, scat, skulls, and more. By examining these clues, you will begin to recognize
and interpret the unique signs and stories that animals leave behind, gaining insight into their behaviors and interactions with their environment. You will leave with newfound skills that will allow you to start reading the subtle stories written on the land.
The following classes will take place at various outdoor natural area locations as we share and expand our knowledge of wildlife track and sign, seasonal natural history, and animal adaptations and behaviors. We will build a skill set for exploring and connecting to the
natural world through tracking and grow as wildlife trackers and naturalists. We will go slow and stop often! Be ready for mysteries, surprises, and moments of wonder as you start to uncover the hidden world of animal life all around you.
