« back to classes page
There are many reasons to learn to knit.  It has been shown to decrease stress, improve concentration and lower blood pressure.  Besides, there is nothing quite like the feeling of seeing someone you love wearing your handmade item!  In this class, you will learn how to choose your yarn and needles. We’ll start with different cast ons and learn the basic stitches.  We’ll discover how to arrange those stitches to produce ribbing, stitch patterns and effects. Finally different bind offs will be demonstrated.  By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills necessary to make scarves, blankets, and more. Teaching and demonstration materials provided. After first class, students are encouraged to choose a project and purchase personal materials.  5 weeks/10 hours
