This course begins by giving an overview of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA"), the Standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information ("Privacy Rule"), covered entities and uses and disclosures of information. It then dives deeper to explain the best practices of medical record keeping and documentation using real life scenarios. Lastly it explains the US HIPAA laws in a healthcare setting and how to implement this act with patients, with 100% accuracy. Learners will then be assessed on how to apply these practices within both clinical and administrative healthcare environments.
