Short Description: The certificate program is designed to supply essential education integrating exercise science curriculum and practical training techniques into a systematic model that teaches students to progress their clients through different training levels and phases. Students will be prepared for careers working at medically-based fitness facilities, community wellness programs, personal training studios, physical therapy clinics, corporate fitness centers, YMCA’s/JCC’s, and private and commercial health clubs. This course provides an introduction to the profession along with coverage of exercise physiology, biomechanics, anatomy, motor learning, and nutrition. In this course you will learn how to establish goals for clients and assess strength, flexibility, and risk as well as develop resistance, cardiorespiratory and flexibility training programs.
Instructor Description: This course is completely self-paced. Learners are provided access to the learner support helpdesk where they can ask any questions relating to the experience or curriculum.

To be eligible for the ACSM Personal Trainer Certification Exam, you must: Be at least 18 years old. Have completed high school (or the equivalent). Hold a current CPR/AED certification with a live skills check. Present a current government-issued photo ID with signature (driver's license, passport, military ID). The Certification Exam is not included in the program tuition.
