Stained Glass Session I

This class is designed to introduce the detailed steps for selecting patterns, cutting glass, grinding each piece, wrapping each glass piece with foil, and soldering.  As you are working through each step, the instructors will also instruct you on how to properly use each tool required to accomplish the task.  This is a hands-on course, but the instructor will provide a small manual to use for reference.  Students will have the opportunity to complete 2 projects by the end of the session.

Each student is required to bring the following supplies to class. Fine Point Sharpie in black and silver.  Apron, paper towels, clean terri cloth for polishing, old toothbrush, 12" ruler, scissors, safety goggles, waterproof garden gloves, rubbing alcohol.

Notice

Please read:  Supplies required for class by the student: 12” ruler, safety glasses, scissors, push pins, black and silver fine point permanent sharpies, roll of paper towel, apron, clean soft rags which will be used for buffing the polish once the project is soldered. All additional tools, materials and instructional booklets will be provided. (Class is limited to 8 students) PLEASE NOTE: This is a hands-on course requiring individual manual dexterity. If you have any medical conditions or are pregnant, please consult your physician prior to registration. Wearing any type of open toed shoes or shorts is prohibited at class for safety reasons.
