Bookkeeping is the process of recording financial transactions, while accounting is the process of analyzing and reporting the data. This course is for non-accounting majors who are interested in becoming certified bookkeepers.

This course is aimed at serving future bookkeepers with little or no prior accounting knowledge. In this eight-class course, students will learn basic accounting theory and applications from the first transaction through the post-closing trial balance and publication of the financial statements. Accounting allows a business to both convey how well it has performed and evaluate how it can improve. Understanding the language of accounting allows you to communicate with the accountants and financial professionals in any organization.
