Description: This Health Information Technology (HIT) course, offered by our accredited school partners, provides strategies and concepts related to the comprehensive management of health information. Students will learn how to organize and secure health information to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of the health care delivery system. With an overview of the health care industry and strategies for recording and securing patient processing records, this course equips the learner with tools and techniques for improving the health care system by effectively managing health care data.

The nation's health care delivery system is rapidly being transformed by the introduction of computer-based health information systems - specifically, by electronic health records (EHRs). This Electronic Health Records course answers the need for health care students to understand the entire medical office workflow process, from scheduling an appointment with the doctor to collecting the final payment. Also included in our course is the clinical staff’s use of a point-of-care electronic health record. Included in our course is the detailed use of MedTrak’s fully integrated electronic health record and practice management system. Hypothetical scenarios allow students to practice each of the medical office workflows steps. Electronic Health Records Specialist course provides you with techniques and rationales for using electronic health records in practice and shows how the electronic health record affects your responsibilities on the job.

Medical administrative assistants primarily work in doctor’s offices, clinics, outpatient settings, hospitals, and other healthcare settings. Instructor Description: This class supported by an Educational Mentor. Educational mentors have worked or are working in the subject they mentor. Educational Mentors review student work, student progress, and interact with students as needed. They respond to any questions or concerns you might have, as well as encouraging and motivating you to succeed.

Certification: Upon successful completion of our Electronic Health Records course, students will be prepared to sit for the NHA national certification exam to become a Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS).
Upon successful completion of our Health Information Technology course, students will be prepared to sit for the HIMSS' Certified Associate in Health Information & Management Systems (CAHIMS) Certification exam.
Upon successful completion of our Medical Administrative Assistant course, students will be prepared to sit for the NHA national certification exam to become a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA).
