Short Description: This veterinary assistant training is designed for any individual who wants to work in a veterinary hospital, zoo, animal shelter, university, etc. as a professional veterinary assistant. This interactive program provides you with the necessary skills and knowledge you need to open up even more employment opportunities for yourself.
This multimedia-rich program is divided into two parts: (1) Veterinary Terminology Training and (2) Veterinary Assistant Training.
In the Veterinary Terminology Trainingpart of the program, you’ll be provided with:
• a visual approach on how to learn medical terms and understand the fundamentals of veterinary medicine.
• a systematic process on how to break down each medical term to its component parts, which will allow you to understand fundamental medical concepts.
• case studies.
In the Veterinary Assistant Training part of the program, you’ll be provided with:
• a well-rounded approach on how to learn the necessary skills in this field.
• skills training for office procedures, nursing care, and radiology.
• knowledge ofcompanion animals, exotic animals,and large animals .
• clinical scenarios that demonstrate how to apply the skills you learn in the real world.
This program comes with software that incorporates interactive elements like games and audio pronunciations of medical termsto help you review what you learned. This way, you can take your learning experience to a whole new level.
Instructor Description: The Veterinary Assistant Specialist Program course is supported by an Educational Mentor. Educational mentors have worked or are working in the subject they mentor. Educational Mentors review student work, student progress, and interact with students as needed. They respond to any questions or concerns you might have, as well as encouraging and motivating you to succeed.
Certification: Veterinary Assistant
Upon successful completion of our Veterinary Assistant course, students will be prepared for an entry-level position as a Veterinary Assistant and will be prepared to sit for the NCCB national certification exam to become a Certified Animal Care Worker (CACW). NOTE: This program DOES NOT License, Certify, or Register Veterinary Technicians in any state through the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.
