Short Description: This program is specifically designed to give people who have no healthcare experience whatsoever the opportunity to become a certified clinical medical assistant. Therefore, it includes various assessments, which include quizzes, exams, and activities to ensure that you’re well-equipped with both the knowledge and skills required to perform this job.
This multimedia-rich course will teach students three vital medical skill sets that they will need to become Clinical Medical Associates. These skills include:
I. Clinical Medical Assisting
• Here, you’ll learn how to prepare a patient for examination and conduct cultures and specimens collection. You’ll also be able to instruct a patient on medication, treatment, and a diet they must follow. Also, you’ll learn how to administer medicine and maintain medical histories.
II. Phlebotomy
• Here, you’ll learn how to perform bloodwork tests, including drawing blood and preparing their samples. You’ll also learn how to perform basic laboratory tests.
III. Electrocardiogram Proficiency
• Here, you’ll learn how to use equipment to monitor and measure heart conditions.
When you complete this program, you’ll be awarded with two exam vouchers. These are for:
1. The Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Certification exam
2. EKG Technician (CET) Certification
This course also provides students with the opportunity to secure a clinical externship at a healthcare provider in their city for a more hands-on learning experience.
This program will help improve your job opportunities in healthcare. It can help prepare you to become a cardiovascular technician, laboratory technician, surgical technician, or dialysis technician in the future.
Instructor Description: This course provides students with certified, skilled facilitators to guide them through their learning experience. Facilitators who are well trained in a unique mastery methodology and provide one-on-one instruction to their students to ensure mastery of the course material. The course facilitator is available to answer any questions a learner may have including questions on course content, course material, certifications, and even industry questions. Facilitators also monitor the progress of learners to ensure training retention and program advancement.
Certification: Students who complete this comprehensive course would be prepared to sit for the National Healthcareer Association's (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national certification exam and Certified EKG Technician (CET) certification exam. Each state may have additional licensing requirements, be sure to research your states requirements for employment by visiting your states occupation board.
