Short Description: This certified EKG technician program is designed for people who want to pursue a successful career as an EKG technician in the growing healthcare industry. You don’t need to have any previous experience in the healthcare industry to enroll in this course.
However, if you’re already working in the EKG field, this assessment-rich program will offer you new knowledge and skills that you can apply in your professional life.
Through this user-friendly course, you’ll learn details about the EKG profession. You will gain knowledge about:
• Electrode placement and leads
• Procedures and processes
• Heart functions and cardiac medications
• EKG machines and measurements
As a professional EKG technician, you’ll work alongside physicians to record and measure patients’ heart performance. In order to do this, you’ll need to know how to effectively operate specialized equipment, which this EKG technician program will teach you in great detail. Our program includes various quizzes and exams to help you retain the knowledge you acquire during the program.
At the end of your program, you’ll be awarded an exam voucher, along with preparation material for the Certified EKG Technician (CET) certification exam by the National Healthcareer Association.
With this certification, you’ll be able to land better jobs faster than before.

Instructor Description: Though this course is self-paced, it is supported by a client adviser. Client advisers are available to answer student questions and monitor student progress to ensure completion of the course. Motivating and encouraging students, the client adviser gives students inspiration to succeed.

Certification: EKG rhythms provide important data for the diagnosis of heart conditions. As a Certified EKG Technician (CET), you’ll have the credentials nearly all healthcare employers require to perform the critical tasks of administering EKGs, as well as Holter monitoring and stress testing. These tests can be performed during physical exams, when cardiovascular problems are suspected, or in preparation for surgery.

By administering EKGs — testing the electrical activity of the heart through small electrode patches attached to the body — you’ll be making a life-changing difference by helping people of all ages prevent and treat heart disease.

As an EKG Technician you may perform some or all of the following tasks:

Set up and administer EKGs (electrocardiograms) and stress tests
Prepare patients for Holter or ambulatory monitoring
Edit and deliver final test results to physicians for analysis
Schedule appointments
Transcribe physicians’ interpretations
The need for qualified EKG technicians continues to rise as the aging population in America grows (and with it, the prevalence of heart-related conditions). Earning your CET will help you launch a successful and meaningful career that can help make a difference in countless lives. Whether you seek full-time or part-time employment, the opportunities in this profession are flexible and in high demand. Plus, the added skills of Holter monitoring and stress tests required for the Certified EKG Technician (CET) will help you to be even more competitive as you launch your healthcare career.
