BASIC BLACKSMITHING: Heat and Beat!

Have you always wanted to try blacksmithing or are you seeking to improve your hot metalworking skills? Then this course is for you! Practice the basics of blacksmithing as you forge a variety of useful products, such as a key ring, hook, plant hanger, grilling fork, door handle and small knife. In addition to drawing, upsetting, hot splitting, twisting, bending, scrolling, riveting, and hardening and tempering, we will also discuss shop layout, project planning, and shopping for materials and tools. This series of lessons will be a fun and enjoyable encounter with hot iron and steel in a friendly and supportive environment. Materials fee: $25 (cash only) payable to the instructor on the first night. Class is limited to 4 students. 6 weeks/18 hours
