Description: When compared to many other careers, chemical plant operators enjoy a number of benefits including above-average pay, job stability and mobility. With more and more countries becoming increasingly industrialized, the demand for qualified, entry-level chemical plant operators is on the rise.

Chemical plant operators typically begin their careers in entry-level positions and quickly move up through the ranks - often to senior management positions. With a large percentage of the current chemical plant workforce reaching retirement age, there is a critical shortage of qualified entry-level plant operators to take their places.

This chemical plant operator training program, offered by our accredited school partners, requires little or no knowledge of plant operations, math, physics and chemistry, as these skills are taught in great detail over the course of the training.

Plant operator responsibilities typically include the following:
• Consider personnel safety as the primary objective and ensure production processes are operating safely
• Continually monitor instrumentation and the operation of equipment
• Monitor and adjust system process variables such as flows, temperatures and pressures within acceptable ranges
• Detect potential and actual problems and take corrective action to prevent the interruption of system operations
• Analyze operational trends and take necessary actions
• Use standard operating procedures to start/stop and modify production equipment
• Maintain communication with other operators, maintenance and plant management

Benefits of becoming a chemical plant operator:
• Higher than average starting pay. Depending upon industry and location, generally entry-level chemical plant operators make $13.00 to $20.00 per hour. After a few years of experience, the pay range is typically between $18.00/hr. to $30.00/hr.
• Stable employment. Chemical plant operators are rarely laid off.
• Employment portability. Virtually every region of the United States has some chemical manufacturing facilities.

Instructor Description: This course provides students with certified, skilled facilitators to guide them through their learning experience. Facilitators who are well trained in a unique mastery methodology and provide one-on-one instruction to their students to ensure mastery of the course material. The course facilitator is available to answer any questions a learner may have including questions on course content, course material, certifications, and even industry questions. Facilitators also monitor the progress of learners to ensure training retention and program advancement. The facilitator for this course, Max Ansari MSEE, P. Eng., First Class Steam Engineer, is the instructor for our biofuel education program. He has experience in the operation of large hydrocarbon facilities, such as refineries, and the development of training systems for a multitude of large corporations engaged in complex industrial production processes. Max also has many years of experience as a professor at a community college. He’s taught a multitude of programs in a number of energy fields.
