Learn what we now know about the effects of radiation based on decades of experience and research without the 1950’s hysteria and hearsay.   This course will explain the nature of radiation, its uses, and how it affects the body.  We will also explore the history of development and workings of nuclear weapons and nuclear power plants as technological applications of nuclear fission and fusion.  It also includes a tour of the “subatomic zoo” explaining the basics of a cornerstone of physics called the “standard model of matter”. 6 weeks/12 hours
